Speaking of walkable neigbourhoods, Stephen Rees has some smart comments about why no one wants to walk on No. 3 Rd in Richmond. It’s an issue now because the Canada Line could, in theory, bring a lot of foot traffic out there.  It’s really a bad thing that all the stores on No. 3 have strip mall-style parking in front of the buildings.  Who wants to walk anywhere when the sidewalk is a little strip of concrete wedged between traffic one side and parking lots on the other?
